Piscataquis County Economic Development Council

The PCEDC site is currently under construction.  Here is a peak of what it will look like, but please check back soon for more updates.

Piscataquis County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) is a network of local stakeholders, towns, organizations, and businesses across Piscataquis County recognizing that collaboration and engagement of key people gets things done - in this case economic and community development.

Some Facts:
  • Piscataquis (pron: Pis. kat. uh. kwis) in Abnaki means "rapid waters."
  • Piscataquis County, Maine, is one of the largest counties east of the Mississippi: 3,966 square miles.
  • It is roughly twice the size of the State of Delaware.
  • Maine's highest mountain (Mt. Katahdin) and largest lake (Moosehead) are within Piscataquis County.  We are also home to the largest state park in New England.
  • John F. Kennedy's slate gravemarker was mined and crafted in Piscataquis County.
