Penquis Leadership Institute
The goal of the Penquis Leadership Institute (PLI) is to promote long-term commitment to economic development by broadening the local leadership base. To do this, the Institute assists local residents in sharpening their leadership skill and gaining a better understanding of the Penquis* region. Economic and community problems are investigated and participants are encouraged to find innovative, practical solutions.
* “Penquis” is a common term to describe the greater Piscataquis County region. The name derives from the combination of the words Piscataquis and Penobscot; our neighboring county.
